LeT terrorist killed in J&K’s Budgam encounter
Srinagar: A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was killed by security forces in an encounter on Sunday in Chadoora area of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Later the slain terrorists was identified as Hilal Ahmed, affiliated to the Pakistan based terror outfit LeT.
A senior police officila said that the encounter started in the early hours of Sunday after the security forces received tip-off about the presence of some terrorists in the area.
He said that the operation was carried out by a joint team of Special Operations Group (SOG), 50 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force on Sunday morning.
The trapped terrorist was killed after he opened fire and lobbed grenades at the forces, forcing the forces to retaliate.
The security forces have recovered arms and ammunition from the site of encounter.
After neutralising the terrorists, a search operation was carried out by the security forces and now the operation is over, said an official.
Mobile internet services was suspended in Budgam as a precautionary measure.
