Srinagar: A girl minor has been raped in Jammu and Kashmir’s Badgam district by a local resident, police said on Monday.
The girl’s father lodged an FIR on Monday, accusing Muhammad Maqbool Rather of raping his minor daughter.
“The medical examination of the victim has established that she has been raped. We have registered a case under relevant sections of law,” said the police official adding that the accused has fled and is still at large.
The police has launched a manhunt to arrest the individual responsible for the shameful act.
