Srinagar: The India army on early Wednesday morning killed a terrorist and foiled yet another infiltration attempt from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

However, in the fierce exchange of fire between the infiltrating terrorists and the army, a soldier was martyred and two other injured, said defence sources.
Confirimg the incident, Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that an Army soldier was martyred and a terrorist killed in Keran sector of the LoC (Line of Control) where alert troops foiled an infiltration bid from the Pakistani side.
He said that two soldiers sustained injuries in the operation and were shifted to an army hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.
The defence official further informed that the infiltration attempt was made by terrorists near the Chaken Post on the LoC.
Meanwhile, search and combing operation was still on in the area.
