Pakistan again violates ceasefire, shelling in Poonch and Rajouri

Jammu: The Pakistan Army on Sunday again resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri and Poonch districts.

No casualty or damage to property was reported on the Indian side

According to defence ministry spokesman, Lt Col Manish Mehta, the Pakistani Army used 2 inch mortars and automatics at Rajouri’s Bhimber Ghali sector and Balakot in Poonch district.

He said that shelling and firing started in Bhimber Ghali at 4 am and continued till 6 am.

On the other hand, in Balakot, it began at 6 am and continued till 6.45 am, said the defence spokesman.

He, however said that the Indian troops responded befittingly and in equal measure to Pakistan’s unprovoked aggression.

No casualty or damage to property was reported on the Indian side, added the defence spokesman.
