Jammu: A day after a Pakistan national was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Samba sector of Jammu region, Pakistan Rangers on Monday violated the ceasefire at Indian positions in the same sector.

According to a BSF official, the Pakistan Rangers using mortars and small arms, targetted Indian positions on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba sector.
He said that the Pakistan Rangers fired a few rounds using small arms at the BSF border outposts in Jammu and Kashmir at 8.45 am.
“After a brief lull, again at 9.35 am, the Pakistani Rangers resumed firing, using small arms and 51 mm mortar. Three border pickets were at the target of the Pakistani aggression,” said the BSF official.
He said that the BSF replied befittingly and in equal measures.
However, no loss of life or damage to any property on the Indian side has been reported, added the BSF official.
