Jammu: One BSF soldier was martyred on Friday when Pakistani troops opened fire at a forward post of the BSF along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A senior police official said that a BSF Assistant Sub-Inspector was killed when Pakistan Army violated ceasefire in Barnoi area of the LoC in Poonch at around 6:30 pm. Indian positions have retaliated strongly and effectively, said the police official.
It may be mentioned here that the ceasefire violation came a day before the Muslim holy festival of Eid-ul-Adha.
