Chennai: A Pakistani national, who had entered India illegally and was peddling drugs, has been arrested in Tamil Nadu’s Ramanathapuram district, police said on Sunday.
According to a police official, a Pakistan national, Mohammed Yunus had come to Ervadi from Sri Lanka on an illegal boat.
The man was staying in a lodge and trying to get people to peddle brown sugar. On the basis of a tip-off about the Pakistani drug peddler trying to supply brown sugar, the police nabbed him, the official added.
The police said that Yunus was arrested on Saturday and he did not have a passport and other required papers on him but only had some Indian and Pakistani currency and two aadhar cards.
Besides the Pakistani drug peddler, two locals were also arrested in connection with the case, said the police official.
