Chandigarh: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot dead an intruder from Pakistan early on Monday in Punjab’s frontier district of Gurdaspur.
According to a BSF official, some suspicious movement near the fence along the Indo-Pak border was spotted near pillar 15/3. “When the intruder was challenged and asked to surrender, he instead of doing so, fired at the security personnel,” said the official who added that in a return fire, the intruder was shot dead on the spot.
The identity of the intruder is being verified and a search operation in the area in the progress, said the official.
