Political stability, corruption-free govt led to nation’s rapid economic growth: Amit Shah
Chennai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that political stability and corruption-free government has led to rapid growth of India’s economy. Amit Shah said that by 2020, the country will certainly become a $5 trillion economy.
“In the last eight years, the country did very good work in terms of strengthening development and economy. By 2025, India will certainly become a 5 trillion dollar economy,” Amit Shah said.
The Union home minister made the remark at an event in Chennai. He further cited a report by Morgan Stanley that predicted India will become the third largest economy in the world by 2021.
“According to a recent report by Morgan Stanley, India is set to become the third biggest economy in the world by 2027. For this, infrastructure is very important. Because of effective and transparent policies, the Modi government has achieved a lot in different sectors in the last eight years,” Amit Shah said.
He also referred to the statement made by Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, the chief economist of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) last month. Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas said that India has emerged as “a bright light” at a time when the world is facing imminent prospects of a recession.
Citing the IMF chief economist’s remark, Amit Shah said, “Due to political stability and corruption-free government, India has become a rapidly growing economy. The IMF called India’s economy a bright spot in a dark zone and predicted that India will be at second position in G20 with 6.8% GDP in 2022-23 and at first position in G20 in 2023-24 with 6.1% GDP.”
