Protesting Congress MLAs refuse to withdraw resignation until Ashok Gehlot allowed to continue
Jaipur: The Congress MLAs of Rajasthan who had tendered their resignation to protest against party high command decision to replace incumbent chief minister Ashok Gehlot with Sachin Pilot, have refused to withdraw their resignation until it was officially announced that chief minister Ashok Gehlot will continue in office.
The decision was made public by the protesting legislators after Gehlot told the media that he will not contest the Congress presidential election and will continue as the chief minister of Rajasthan.
It may be recalled that 82 MLAs had sent in their resignation on September 25 protesting against Sachin Pilot being chosen as the chief ministerial face if Gehlot wins the Congress presidential election.
