Srinagar: Seven security personnel and two civilians were injured in a grenade attack by terrorists in the heart of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening.

Police sources said the terrorists hurled the grenade at a group of security personnel in the city centre Lal Chowk.
“Nine people including two civilians, four CRPF troopers and three policemen were injured in the explosion,” a police officer said.
“The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment. The area has been surrounded to carry out searches,” the officer said.
Meanwhile Pakistan based terror outfit Jais-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the said grenade attack.
