Srinagar: An Army soldier who was injured earlier on Tuesday in an ongoing encounter with terrorists in Tral forest area of Kashmir valley, succumbed to his injuries.

According to a senior police official, Ajay Kuamr of 42 Rashtriya Rifles succumbed to his injuries at the Army Base Hospital here.
The police official said that the encounter with the terrorists started when some three to four terrorists fired at a Army petrol in Tral.
“Security forces comprising the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have cordon off the area to nab or neutralise the hiding terrorists believed to be associated with Hijbul Mujahideen,” said the police official.
He further said that the number of terrorists hiding in the forested area of Tral could be even more than four.
