Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Assembly speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati accepted the resignation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sharad Kaul on Friday.

Kaul submitted his resignation to the Speaker on March 6.
Talking to reporters, Prajapati said: “Kaul resigned from the membership on March 6. His resignation has been accepted following all the process. A notification regarding this has also been issued.”
The BJP is left with 106 MLAs after the latest development.
Notably, the resignations of 16 rebel MLAs were accepted on Thursday late night while resignations of six ministers were accepted on March 14.
On the other hand hours ahead of the Supreme Court-ordered floor test in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Speaker NP Prajapati on Thursday announced that he had accepted the resignations of 16 rebel Congress MLAs, currently ensconced in a Bengaluru resort.
Prajapati made the announcement in a press conference held near midnight, adding that the notification of the acceptance of the resignations would come soon.
He said that these MLAs had submitted written resignations and they were given two opportunities to appear before him, but did not avail them. Henceforth, he accepted the resignations.
The Speaker had accepted resignations of six other Congress MLAs earlier.
