SPO with AK-47 rifle, joins Hizbul Mujahideen

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police is on the look out for a special police officer (SPO) who went missing from Pampore police station with an AK-47 rifle and has joined the terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen.

SPOs are engaged on a fixed monthly packet in Jammu and Kashmir to fight terrorism

According to reports, Hizbul Mujahideen spokesman Burhan-u-Din called a local news agency and claimed that Irfan Ahmad Dar had joined his group.

The SPO in question is Irfan Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nehama Kakapora of Pulwama district. He fled with his rifle and has joined Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, the spokesman said.

A police official said that Dar went missing on Tuesday from Pampore police station along with the AK-47 rifle.
The Police has launched a hunt to trace Dar and nab him.

It may be mentioned here that SPOs are engaged on a fixed monthly packet in Jammu and Kashmir to fight terrorism.
