Telugu Desam Party MPs strongly criticised YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu on Sunday for what they described as “filthy, abusive and demeaning language” directed at Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, asserting that the term “bastard” was used in reference to him.

The TDP representatives, including Lavu Krishna Devarayalu, K. Appalanaidu, Byreddy Shabari, and Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish, expressed their condemnation at a press conference held at AP Bhavan, New Delhi, following the Parliament’s Budget Session. They described Ambati Rambabu’s remarks as representing a “shocking new low” in Andhra Pradesh politics and a “direct assault” on democratic values, public decency, and civil political discourse.

The MPs demanded that Ambati Rambabu issue an unconditional public apology, stating that such “gutter-level language” from a former minister is disgraceful, intolerable, and condemnable.

TDP MP Lavu Krishna Devarayalu accused the YSRCP of institutionalising a culture rewarding abuse, slander, and moral bankruptcy. He said, “This is not political criticism it is verbal vandalism. The people of Andhra Pradesh decisively rejected this toxic culture in the 2024 elections, yet YSRCP leaders have learnt nothing.”

K. Appalanaidu stated that YSRCP leaders are deliberately fostering unrest in the state and disturbing peace and law and order. He remarked that Ambati Rambabu’s comments bring shame to civil society and reminded that YSRCP leaders have repeatedly crossed limits, including abusing CM Naidu’s family members.

Byreddy Shabari described the loud, abusive behaviour of YSRCP leaders as routine and deeply embarrassing. Criticising Ambati Rambabu for irresponsibly addressing a senior Chief Minister, he said, “Shouting theatrics and cheap abuse do not make a leader. Politics demands responsibility, dignity and restraint,” adding that the TDP believes in exemplifying clean politics for future generations.

Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish drew a stark contrast between TDP’s discipline and YSRCP’s destructive politics, recalling that when a TDP worker made an inappropriate remark about YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took immediate action. He stated, “That reflects our values. YSRCP, meanwhile, is using abusive language in a desperate attempt to divert attention from the Tirumala laddu adulteration issue and repeatedly trying to incite divisions among communities and castes.”

The TDP MPs declared that Andhra Pradesh will not tolerate “politics driven by hate, abuse and intimidation.” They reaffirmed that Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership represents dignity, development, and democratic values, while YSRCP’s repeated verbal attacks reveal its desperation, frustration, and moral collapse.
