Srinagar: Security forces apprehended a terrorist following a grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pattan town on Wednesday in which three policemen and a civilian were injured.

A police official said that on receiving a tip-off about the movement of some terrorists in the area, a checkpost was set up in Pattan town of Baramulla district.
He said that during the course of the checking drive, when a vehicle was signaled to stop, terrorist hurled a grenade at the police party to escape.
A Deputy Superintendent of Police, a constable, a special police officer and a civilian were injured when the grenade hurled by terrorists exploded.
However, the police chased the terrorists and succeeded in nabbing one of them.
The police official said that the apprehended terrorists has been identified as Faizan Majeed Bhat who had recently joined terror outfit Huzbul Mujahideen.
Apprehended terrorist Bhat’s accomplice, Showkat Ahmad, managed to escape.
Search is on to nab Showkat, added the police official.
