Srinagar: Security forces on Friday killed a terrorist following a brief gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to a senior police official, a patrol party of 32 Rashtriya Rifles was fired at by terrorists in Watergam area of Baramulla and in a retaliatory fire that last for a brief period, one terrorist was killed.
The body of the neutralised terrorists was recovered from the encounter site, said the police official.
He said that the encounter took place in an orchard area.
“Another terrorist is also believed to have been killed in this operation and searches were on to trace the body,” added the police official.
The police official further said that the affiliation and identity of the slain terrorists is being established.
