Srinagar: Security forces on Monday killed a terrorists in an encounter which is underway in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, at least 2-3 terrorists are believed to be trapped in the Drabgam area of Pulwama as the security forces have cordoned off the area.
The hiding terrorists resorted to indiscriminate firing at a joint patrolling party of 44 RR, 182/183 Bn CRPF and Police Pulwama.
Sources said that in the ensuing exchange of fire, one terrorist was gunned down.
Till reports last came in, the encounter was on in the area with reinforcements reached to plug all possible escape routes.
Meanwhile, In another development, the security forces, in a joint operation, defused improvised explosive device (IED) in Gasigund, Anantnag.
On the other hand, in Baramulla, the police busted another terror module and arrested one terrorist associate along with three other suspects.
The detained terror suspects were questioned by the police at the time of filing of the report.
