Two BSF personnel injured in Naxals triggered blast in Chhattisgarh

Narayanpur: Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured on Friday after an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Naxals went off in Chhattisgarh, police said.

IED exploded as the road-opening party was moving towards Garpa

The incident took place in Narayanpur district’s Abujmarh, a Naxal hotbed, when a road-opening party — team responsible for ensuring safe passage for military vehicles — went out for patrolling in the morning.

The IED exploded as the road-opening party was moving towards Garpa, a nearby village, from their camp, injuring two, said a police official, adding that the injured jawans are being treated at a hospital.

This incident comes two days after a villager was killed and three were injured in two isolated incidents in the same district.

On Thursday, two CRPF jawans were injured in another IED blast triggered by Naxalites in neighbouring Bijapur district.
