Srinagar: Security forces have succeeded in neutralising two terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) following a fierce encounter that broke out on Sunday evening in north Kashmir’s Waripora village of Handwara in Kupwara district.

According to a senior police official, on receiving a tip-off, the security forces cordoned off a house in which two terrorists were hiding. “On seeing the security forces closing in, an encounter broke out and two of the terrorists hiding inside the house were killed,” said the police official.
The encounter was carried out with precision as no security personnel or civilian was injured in the operation.
From the slain terrorists, two AK series rifle and a large quantity of ammunition was recovered, said the police official adding that the search operation by the security forces is on in the area to track any more terrorists.
