Gurugram: The production came to a halt as an unwanted guest arrived to the astonishment of one and all. Yes, the guest in question was a young leopard that had entered into the Suzuki Powertrain plant near here on Thursday.

Sense of fear was natural and an unprovoked attack by the feline was also a possibility. To secure the life of its workers, the management halted production, said sources.
According to reports, the feline entered the premises of Suzuki Powertrain India Limited in sector 8 (Phase 1) of Tau Devilal Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Manesar on the Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai national highway.
“Its presence was first noticed by a company’s security guard in wee hours around 2.30 am,” said sources adding that the security guard without wasting time raised an alarm to alert all the workers.
Immediately after the presence of a leopard was known, the production was stopped and all the workers present in the plant came out of the factory for safety of their life.
Subsequently, the forest department was informed about the unusual development.
Without wasting time, a team of forest department’s Wildlife wing reached the plant and till reports last came in, a search was on to locate and immobilise the leopard.
A senior state forest department official said that since the plant has many huge machines, the leopard may have been hiding under one of those machines.
The official said that the CCTV installed at the plant has also confirmed the presence of the leopard in the plant premises.
Meanwhile, over 2,000 workers and staff of the company were sitting outside the main gate of the factory, waiting for the leopard be trapped.
