Jammu: The Indian Army has arrested a 12-year-old boy from Pakistan- occupied Kashmir (PoK) after he crossed over into the Indian territory along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

According to an Army official, the security forces has clear suspicision about the arrested by being sent by the Pakistan Army along with terrorists to carry out a spot survey of infiltration routes, besides patrol track of the Army in the area.
He said that the boy in question was apprehended at the LoC after intruding from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir late on Friday evening in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
The name of the boy arrested is Ashfaq Ali Chauhan. The arrested boy is the son of a retired Baloch Regiment soldier of Dunger Pel village in PoK and was arrested when he was found moving suspiciously near the LoC on the Indian side. “On being challenged by the Army’s patrol party, the boy immediately surrendered,” said an Army spokesman.
Sources in the Army said that they clearly suspect that the boy was sent by the terrorists with the active connivance of the Pakistan Army to probe routes for infiltration across the LoC.
The arrested boy has been handed over to the police for further investigation, said the Army official.
