Srinagar: Security forces on Monday foiled an infiltration bid in Dulanja area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector killing six Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists.

All the six neutralised terrorists were JeM’s fidayeen attackers. They were gunned down during a joint operation by the Army, the Central Reserve Police Forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
A senior police official said that the fidayeen attackers were planning a strike similar to December 31 CRPF camp attack.
Defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said a group of terrorists was spotted infiltrating from Pakistan into India near Dulanja area of border town Uri, early in the morning.
On being challenged by the alert security forces, the infiltrating terrorists opened fire at the forces, triggering a fierce gun battle that left six terrorists dead, said the defence spokesman.
Sources in the police said that all the six neutralised terrorists were Pakistan nationals.
Meanwhile, search and combing operation continues in the area, said an official.
