Srinagar: Alert Indian Army foiled a terror attack at its camp in Hajin area of Bandipora districts on Tuesday night.

According to reports, terrorists hurled grenades at Army and police camp at Hajan in Bandipora district of North Kashmir. “The grenade attack was followed by firing by the terrorists and this was retaliated by the alert army,” said sources.

A senior police official said that around six terrorists came from two sides of army camp of 13 Rashtriya Rifles and Hajan police station and fired eight grenade using Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) towards Army and police establishment.

“Terrorists fire has been retaliated by the Army very heavily and in an effective manner,” said a police official.

He said that the security forces have cordoned off the area and heavy exchange of fire was on till reports last came in.
