Srinagar: In a sudden spurt of violent activities, terrorists active in Kashmir valley struck four times within a span of 24-hours and kill four locals including three policemen and a BJP activist on the day when Eid-ul-Zuha was being celebrated across the nation.

According to a police official, an unknown number of terrorists forced their entry into the house of Inspector Muhammad Ashraf Dar in Larve village in Pulwama district. “They fired at the officer from close range resulting in his death on the spot,” said a police official.
With this, the number of policemen killed by the terrorists in south Kashmir on Wednesday rose to three.
Terrorist also shot and killed another policeman in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that the terrorists fired at constable Muhammad Yaqoob in Louswani village of Pulwama district on Wednesday afternoon. Injured policeman was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to critical injuries, said the police official.
Earlier in the day, terrorists had killed a policeman in Zazripora village of Shopian district.
Police said that SPO Fayaz Ahmad was fired at in Zazripora village. He was shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead, added the police official.
Apart from killing two policemen, terrorists killed a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activist as well. He was abducted and killed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“Shabir Ahmad Bhat was abducted yesterday (Tuesday). His bullet riddled body was found earlier this morning,” said the police.
Director General of Police SP Vaid said the policemen had ignored the advisory regarding visits to ancestral places without security.
Pakistan based terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for killing the policemen.
Meanwhile, the security forces have launched an intensive search operation to nab or neutralise the terrorists responsible for killing the policemen and the BJP activist.
