Security forces kill two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in J&K’s Pulwama

Srinagar: The security forces on Saturday killed two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Some arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site

According to a police official, the encounter started following a cordon laid by the security forces on receiving information about presence of some terrorists in Babgund village of Pulwama.

“As the security forces closed in, the hiding terrorists fired to break the cordon and escape but the ensuing encounter, one of the terrorists was killed,” said the police official.

He said that the slain terrorist was identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar. He was from Samboora village.

The police official said that another terrorists engaged in the encounter got injured but managed to escape for the security cordon.

The injured terrorists was admitted by unidentified persons in Srinagar’s SMHS hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Showkat Ahmad from Muran village.

Some arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site.

The authorities have imposed curfew in Pulwama town as a precautionary measure.
