Jammu: Pakistan has once again violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. In this fresh unprovoked firing by the Pakistan Army, a soldier was martyred, said an official on Sunday.
A senior police official said that the Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Shahpur area late Saturday night which continued till Sunday morning.
“Around 4.30 am, a soldier was critically injured in the Pakistani firing and he was immediately airlifted to an army hospital where he succumbed to his injuries earlier today,” said the official.
He said that the Indian forces have been retaliating strongly and effectively. However, it is still be assessed to what has been the extent of damage to life and property in the enemy territory.
