Srinagar: The alert Indian Army killed two Pakistani soldiers in a counter offensive strike on the LoC in Kashmir’s Uri sector to foil a Border Action Team (BAT) attack from the Pakistani side, late on Monday evening.

According to defence sources on Tuesday, special forces of the Army targeted the Pakistan army personnel along the Uri LoC on Monday evening.
Sources said that besides inflicting casualties on the Pakistan Army, a convoy of three vehicles was attacked by Indian Army in which two Pakistan armymen were killed and four injured.
Since the Indian army had been carrying a major offensive strike to pre-empt any BAT attack from the Pakistani side, the weekly run of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service was cancelled on Monday.
Commandos of Indian Army took position at a vantage point on the LoC overlooking the Chakothi-Muzaffarabad road in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, sources added.
The latest counter offensive operation strike was carried out by the Indian Army following actionable information that the terrorists assisted by Pakistani Army were planning a fresh BAT attack in Uri sector on the Indian Army men deployed to guard the LoC.
