Srinagar: An encounter that broke out at the Delhi Public School (DPS) in Srinagar late on Saturday night between the security forces and the terrorists holed up inside the DPS complex resulted in killing of two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists on Sunday.

The identity of the two slain terrorists is still to be officially declared

A senior police official said that as security forces launched an offensive to flush out the hiding terrorists who took refuge inside the DPS complex after attacking Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle in Pantha Chowk area on Saturday, the holed up terrorists resorted to heavy firing. “The encounter continued till noon on Sunday and finally two terrorists were killed,” said the police official adding that out of the two LeT terrorists neutralised, one is a Pakistani.

However, the identity of the two slain terrorists is still to be officially declared, further said the official.

Though the gunfight has stopped, search and sanitisation process by the security forces is on in the huge school complex.

Meanwhile, three army personnel, including a captain, have been injured in the encounter. However, their condition is stated to be was stable, said an official.
