Chandigarh: Two armed terrorists from Pakistan were killed by the alert Border Security Force (BSF) troopers on the international border in Ajnala sector of Amritsar on early Wednesday morning while trying to infiltrate.
A senior police official said that on noticing suspicious movement near the international border, early in the morning, the BSF troops challenged the infiltrators who resorted to indiscriminate firing to escape from the site.
However, in the return fire by the BSF personnel, two infiltrating terrorists were killed, said the police official.
Sources in BSF said that around five kg heroin was recovered from the spot, besides arms ammunition and currency from the slain infiltrators.
Even though the infiltration attempt has been foiled by neutralising two terrorists, search operation in the area was still on, said sources.
