Srinagar: Security forces achieved a major success on Monday when they succeeded in killing a top Jais-e-Mohammad terrorist who was the operational head of the Pakistan based terror outfit.

According to a senior police official, the security forces on receiving specific inputs about the presence of JeM terrorist, laid cordon and search operation and as they closed in, a fierce but brief encounter took place in which the top JeM terrorist was killed.
He said that the encounter took place at Ladoora in Baramulla district.
The neutralised JeM terrorist was indentofied as Khalid and was a Pakistani national.He was the operation commander of the JeM in north Kashmir.
The police that the JeM was planning a fresh fidayeen attack on security forces installations.
Meanwhile, a junior commissioned officer (JCO) of the Indian Army was killed on Monday in a gunfight with the terrorists in Badgam district of Kashmir valley.
Police sources said that on receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Drung village, the security forces commenced a search operation shortly after Sunday midnight.
“As the cordon was being tightened, the hiding terrorists fired at the security forces injuring Subedar Raj Kumar who later succumbed to his injuries,” said a police official.
He said that an intensive search operation was on in the area to either nab or neutralise the terrorists involved in the gunfight.
