Jammu: After being pounded with heavy artillery that caused heavy casualty, Pakistan Rangers “pleaded” with the Border Security Force (BSF) to stop firing along the International Border (IB).

The BSF also released a 19-second thermal-imagery footage showing the destruction of a Pakistani picket across the border in retaliation to the unprovoked firing and shelling along the IB.
Thereafter agreeing to Pakistan Rangers plea, Indian Border Security Force agreed on Sunday to maintain peace on the international border in Jammu region, BSF sources said.
BSF and Rangers officials spoke to one another over telephone, three days after four civilians and a BSF officer were killed in shelling and firing by the Pakistan Rangers in RS Pura, Arnia and Bishnah sectors.
“The two sides agreed to maintain peace on the international border and hold periodic meetings to ensure that civilian life and property remained safe on both sides,” a BSF officer said.
A senior official said, “for the last three days, the precision fire of BSF troopers on Pakistani firing locations inflicted heavy losses.”
The BSF had lost two of its jawans in this latest round of unprovoked firing on the Jammu IB over the last few days.
A number of civilians were also killed and injured in the Jammu area due to this firing incident.
