Srinagar: While thwarting yet another infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naugam sector of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir early on Monday morning, the Army succeeded in killing three infiltrating terrorists from Pakistan.

According to defence sources, the Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked firing in Naugam sector, late on Sunday night. “During this period, the security forces noticed some suspicious movement and to thwart any possible infiltration, the intruders were fired upon to push them back,” said sources adding that on Monday morning, bodies of three infiltrating terrorists were recovered by the army in the search and combing operation that continues in the area.
Sources said that the slain terrorists were believed to be associated with Pakistan based terror group Jais-e-Mohammad (JeM). However, the exact identity of the neutralised terrorists is still to be established.
Meanwhile, intensive search operation continues in the area to track and neutralise any terrorists who may have managed to cross the LoC and may be hiding under the forest cover.
