London court issues arrest warrant against fugitive Indian diamantaire Nirav Modi

London/New Delhi: A court in London has issued an arrest warrant against fugitive Indian diamantaire Nirav Modi, who is accused of bank fraud by the Indian government.

Nirav Modi is one of the main suspects charged in the Rs 14,300 crore loan fraud

Nirav Modi will be produced before a court on March 25, said news channel CNBC-TV18.

The Indian government had moved an extradition request for Modi, who is currently in London, ED sources said in Delhi.

Nirav Modi is one of the main suspects charged in the Rs 14,300 crore loan fraud at state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s biggest banking fraud.

Sources said that it is likely that the diamond trader will be arrested by London police. He, however, can apply for bail and he is likely to get conditional bail.
