Srinagar: During an anti-militancy operation by security forces in Kund area of Kulgam district, three terrorists were arrested and one was killed, the police said on Thursday.
Acording to IGP Kashmir zone, Muneer Khan, the anti-militancy operation reiterated that security forces are ready to accept the surrender of local terrorists even during encounters.
He said that the security forces comprising 9 RR, 10 Sikhli and 18 Batallion of CRPF, arrested terrorists Shamsul Viqar and Atta Mohd Malik during an ongoing operation in the forest area of Haalan-Kund area of Qazigund.
He said that one of the associate of the terrorists who surrendered, Bilal Sheikh was nabbed from the encounter site.
Of the three arrested terrorist, one injured terrorist has been identified as Atta Muhammad Malik and has been undergoing treatment in hospital, said the police official.
He said that in the ongoing operation, a soldier was martyred on November 14.
Meanwhile, the neutralised terrorist has been identified as Muzammil Manzoor Dar.
It may be mentioned here that the anti-militancy operation Kund has been continuing since November 14.
