Pakistan again violates ceasefire in J&K’s Naushera, two civilians killed

Jammu: Two civilians were injured and three others injured when Pakistani troops yet again violated the ceasefire and resorted to heavy firing on Saturday morning along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

According to Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta, “Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing and shelling on our positions on the LoC in the Naushera sector.”

He said that the Pakistani Army had been using small arms, automatics and mortars.

The firing started at 7.15 am and the Indian Army has been effectively retaliating to Pakistan’s unprovoked aggression, added the defence spokesman.

Following indiscriminate shelling by Pakistani troops, at least fourteen families from border villages in the Naushera sector have left their homes to safer locations.
