Jammu: An Indian soldier was martyred on Saturday in Pakistani sniper fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

According to Defence Ministry sources, the incident took place in Laam area of Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
The Indian forces have been retaliating to unprovoked Pakistan aggression in an effective manner, said sources.
Amid frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan, there was no exchange of sweets between the forces of the two nations on the occasion of Eid.
Meanwhile, a man was killed on Saturday in clashes with security forces post Eid prayers in state’s Anantnag town.
According to a police official, one Sheraz Ahmad of Barakpora village, who was injured in the street battles in Janglamandi area. He later succumbed to his injuries in a Srinagar hospital.
On the direction of Pakistan proxies, violent protests were witnessed at various locations after Eid prayers.
Clashes took place in Srinagar city’s Eidgah area where large crowds gathered to offer congregational Eid prayers. Some of the protesters even waved ISIS flags.
