Jammu: Visibly frustrated by several failed attempts to push in terrorists from its side, the Pakistani forces have now resorted to targeting civilians areas and in one such fresh attempt by it a 10-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl — were killed and 12 others injured on Monday in heavy shelling and firing by the Pakistan Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

According to a senior police official, while a 10-year-old boy Asrar Ahmad was killed in Kerni area, a 15-year old girl Yasmina Akhtar was killed in Digwar area of the LoC as the Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling at 6.30 am.
He said that the other twelve injured civilians were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment where their condition is stated to be stable.
Defence Ministry sources said that the Indian military has been retaliating strongly and effectively.
Till reports last came in, shelling and firing exchanges were on in the area.
