Pakistan violates ceasefire in J&K’s Arnia sector, BSF soldier injured

Jammu: Pakistan on Friaday again violated the ceasefire at the international boundary (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Arnia sector injuring a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper.

The incident occurred when the BSF jawan was cutting tall grass on the Indian side of the IB

According to a senior police official, a BSF personnel at a bortder post was injured in the latest round of unprovoked firing by the Pakistani rangers that started at around 7.15 am.

“The incident occurred when the BSF jawan was cutting tall grass on the Indian side of the IB,” said the police official.

However, the Indian troops strongly retaliated and within the next 30 minutes the firing from Pakistani side stopped.

It may be mentioned here that the Pakistan Army on Thursday had resorted to heavy firing and shelling on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district in which a woman woman was killed and two others including the husband of the deceased were injured.
