Pakistan violates ceasefire in J&K’s Rajouri, soldier martyred

Jammu: An Indian soldier was martyred on Thursday in unprovoked Pakistani firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

According to Defence Ministry sources, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked shelling of mortars and firing with small arms to target Indian positions in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.

Sources said that the ceasefire violation by the Pakistan army started early on Thursday morning. “One soldier sustained critical injuries in the shelling and succumbed to the injuries,” said sources adding that the Indian Army has been retaliating strongly and effectively.

The extent of damage to life and property on the Pakistani side is not known but sources claimed that the enemy side has also suffered some casualties.
