Srinagar: Five terrorists were killed on Saturday after the army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Defence Ministry spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia said, “An infiltration bid was foiled by alert troops of the army on the LoC in Tangdhar sector early Saturday morning.”
He said that five terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation so far. “Operation is still on and possibilities of some more terrorists hiding in the area cannot be ruled out,” added the official.
Prior to the current operation, two days ago, the army had foiled another infiltration bid on the LoC in Keran sector of the same district and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition, said an official.
The official said that in Keran sector, the infiltrating terrorists after a brief gunfight were forced to withdraw into the Pakistan side of the LoC.
