Two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists killed in south Kashmir’s Budgam encounter

Srinagar: Two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists were killed in an ongoing encounter between the security forces and terrorists in Sutsu village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.

In the said encounter, five jawans were also injured

Sources in the police said that at least two more terrorists were believed to have been trapped in the area.

However, in the said encounter, five jawans were also injured. All the injured jawans were immediately shifted to the Army hospital where there condition is stated to be stable.

According to information, on receiving information about presence of some terrorists, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area. “As the security cordon tightened, the hiding terrorists resorted to indiscriminate firing to break the security cordon and escape but in the retaliatory fire, two of the terrorists were neutralised,” said an official.

He said that the slain terrorists were affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and one of them was a Pakistani national. Two US made sniper rifles were also recovered from the neutralised terrorists, added the official.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani army once again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

Till reports last came in heavy firing exchanges were on between Indian and Pakistani army.

“Around 7.30 am, Pakistan initiated the attack violating the ceasefire agreement. There was unprovoked attack launched by the Pakistnai soldiers in Mankote and Krishna Ghati sectors,” Ministry spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said.

They resorted to mortar shelling and also used small firearms to target Indian positions. The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively, he added.
