Srinagar: Security forces on Wednesday morning killed two terrorists in an encounter in Sugoo area of Shopian districtof Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, The operation was started by a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, 44 RR and CRPF.
Sources said that on receiving credible inputs about 2-3 terrorists hiding in the area, the security forces swung into action and surrounded an apple orchard where some some terrorists were hiding. “As the security forces came close to the spot where the terrorists were hiding, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an encounter in which two terrorists were killed,” said sources.
The identity and affiliation of the neutralised terrorists is still to be established.
However, till reports last came in, the encounter was on as one or two terrorists is still believed to be hiding in the area, sources added.
