Yet again infiltration bid foiled, 1 terrorist killed in J&K’s Poonch

Jammu: Yet another infiltration bid was foiled and a terrorist killed by the Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nangi Tekri area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Defence spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel, Manish Mehta said that the alert troops of the Army noticed suspicious movement on the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector around 2.30 am.

However, the identity of the neutralised terrorist is yet to be ascertained with further details awaited.

It may be mentioned here that this was the third infiltration bid from across the border in J&K in as many days. On the previous two such attepmts from the Pakistani side, the alert security forces had successsfuly killed eight terrorists.

Also as a result of stepped up operation against the security forces in the Kashmir valley, a major success was achieved on Saturday when three terrorists including a top Hizbul terrorists Sabzar Ahmad Bhat and two of his accomplices were neutralised. “It certainly is a big blow to home grown terrorism in the valley,” said a police official.
