Srinagar: The Indian Army on Friday foiled yet another infiltration bid and killed five heavily armed terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Confirming the report, Srinagar-based Army spokesperson Rajesh Kalia said that soldiers deployed along LoC in Uri detected a movement of terrorists who were trying to sneak into the Indian side of LoC in Uri sector of Baramulla district on Friday afternoon.
He said that on being challenged, the infiltarting terrorists opened fire at the soldier. “This led to a fierce exchange of fire and in the process, five of the infiltrating terrorists were neutralised,” said the defence official.
He said that all the slain terrorists were heavily armed and their identity is still to be established.
However, intense combing operation is underway in the area, said the defence spokesman.
It may be mentioned here that this was the third infiltration attempt by terrorists in last 24 hours.
